Everyone is warmly welcome, as usual, so please do join us. Sign up to the emailing list to get the Zoom invitation which we will send out a couple of days in advance.
Our online folk clubs are, like our real-life ones, completely inclusive - anyone can sing or play, and everyone can listen or join in (on mute!). At the start our MC asks who would like to sing and makes sure everyone who wants to gets the chance. It's always a very appreciative audience - and, if you're worried about that kind of thing (which you shouldn't be), a supportive and forgiving one too.
** The text below is left in place just so we don't have to rewrite it when folk club is back to something like normal, and to give a flavour of what to expect. **
We run the Morris Folk Club on the last Tuesday of every month (except December). Entry is free, and all are welcome.
The Folk Club venue is the Vortex Downstairs bar, 11 Gillett Square, London N16 8AZ. (NB the Vortex Downstairs is on the ground floor; the Vortex is upstairs...)
The Folk Club runs from 7.30pm till 10/10.30pm.
Do check Twitter and Facebook for information on what's happening this month, not least in case of cancellations or special themes.
Folk Club generally follows an open, floor performers/singers night format.
Join in with some songs from the choir, bring a song to sing or instrument to perform in the open spots, or just sit back and enjoy the music in a friendly and welcoming environment.
If you would like to get an idea of what kind of things get sung/played at Morris Folk Club, take a look at the 'setlists' page!
A unique part of Morris Folk Club is that it incorporates elements of 'open choir rehearsal', when anyone can get a taste of singing with the choir as during the evening we all together learn a song or two or go over an old favourite. Throw yourself into it!
